There's still one left!

An osprey was sighted flying around the Wigtown Bay area yesterday by Paul Tarling the RSPB's warden for the new Crook of Baldoon Nature Reserve. It is likely that it is still one of the Wigtown Bay birds, although Paul could not identify it in flight.

However we are receiving more reports of sightings of migrating ospreys passing through Dumfries and Galloway. Yesterday one was reported to be fishing at Three Lochs, Newton Stewart. This is not known to be a regular fishing spot for the Wigtown Bay birds, who do most of their fishing in Wigtown Bay itself, so was probably a migrant heading South.
