May 8th - 15th

At the beginning of the week, the female was alone on the nest quite a lot, although EP did bring in the occasional fish. As the week progressed, we saw more of EP, and he seemed to be bringing more fish, though he often seemed to be trying to keep them  to himself by 'mantling' over them ( turning his back on the female and crouching over the fish with wings half spread). By the end of the week, the two ospreys did seem to be building a better relationship, 'getting on' better. Although it is getting late in the season, we haven't totally given up hope of getting eggs. The birds are on the nest more often, though there has been little nest preparing activity.
