Caerlaverock

This weekend our Osprey female H/D became both a proud mother and Grandmother, excellent news all round.

After a long wait and the Ospreys are back in Galloway nest being the only known successful Osprey nest in Dumfries and Galloway, a chick has hatched at Caerlaverock near Dumfries. This is the first Osprey to hatch in Dumfriesshire in over 100 years.

Our 2004 Ospreys are Back in Galloway chick (Green AW) has returned to the area and along with his mate, who has no rings.  This picture is of the chick we have been waiting for.  After a day of restlessness on the Caerlaverock nest on Sunday morning a chick was seen being fed .  Brilliant news to go along with our second chick, the new Caerlaverock arrivals uncle, who hatched on Saturday morning.

Will we have two chicks in both nests by next weekend?
